答案 The chart shows that the number of foreign students who learn Chinese in a city has been rising steadily. There were only 25 thousand foreign students who learned Chinese in 2003, but 5 years later the number saw modest increases of 15 thousand. After 2008, the number increased dramatically and reached as many as 80 thousand in 2013. As we can see, there is a Chinese fever among foreign students in this city. This phenomenon can be attributed to the following reasons. First, as China becomes stronger, the status of Chinese language and culture is also rising. More and more people all over the world are starting to learn Chinese wanting to know more about China. Second, many foreigners see the huge potential of Chinese market and are ready to get involved in it as China’s economy continues to grow fast. In my opinion, we should make continued effort to spread and promote our language and culture to attract more foreigners to learn our mother tongue.
