When he got there, nobody came out to meet him and nobody gave him a seat at a table. Then Henry went back home, and put on his best clothes, and came back to the party. The rich man and the people at the party got up at once and came to meet him. The rich man was very kind to him and took him to the best table, gave him a good seat and the best food.
    Henry took off his coat, put it in front of the food and asked, "Eat, my dear coat!"
    The other people were surprised and said, "What are you doing?" Henry answered, "I was asking my coat to eat. When I was wearing my old clothes, nobody looked at me or gave me any food or drink. Then I went home and came back in these fine clothes, and everything changed. You gave me these things for my clothes, not for me."
