答案 Who Is to Blame for False Endorsement? As is subtly depicted in the cartoon, the gigantic hand of the manufacturer is inserting a coin into the back of the doll of a celebrity. With the money received, the celebrity with a grin from ear to ear makes every effort to propagate the medicine by waving the bottle vigorously and exclaiming that he has taken the medicine in front of the camera. Apparently, the cartoon aims to remind us of the current grave phenomenon of the false endorsements conducted by the celebrities. As the cartoon points out, all the three factors involved in the false endorsement cannot shirk their responsibility. First of all, it is the manufacturers that should take up the utmost duty. But for their greed for money, there would be no false endorsement at all. Secondly, the celebrity, whose honesty easily surrenders under money, takes advantage of his fame and the trust that the ordinary people bestow on him. Last but not least important, the media plays a significant role in transmitting the false endorsement to the public. In conclusion, to eradicate this tumor of our society, effective measures must be carried out in all the three factors resulting in the false endorsement. Severe laws must be enforced to prohibit the manufactures from producing unqualified products, the celebrity from engaging in false endorsements and the media form broadcasting those commercials.
