The main reason is that the demands for petroleum continuously increase in China. Second, our crude oil resources are not rich enough to meet our own needs. Third, a large number of private cars are entering Chinese families. As a result, we have to import crude oil from foreign countries such as Russia. Considering all these, we must find more energy for our economic development. For one thing, we may enlarge our oil imports. For another, we can create other energy substitutes.
