   Some people’ think that in this modern world people are getting dependent of each other. Others think the modern world gets people more independent of each other. Discuss both views and give your own opinions.

答案 People Are Becoming More Independent of Each Other It’s great that we have the technology to connect with people across the globe instantly, but there is also a sense of disconnection. Social and technology development indeed have caused a fundamental change in human relationships. Although some hold the view that people tend to increasingly rely on each other, as for me, I am in favor of the view that people have become more independent of each other than before. To begin with, today’s less strong family relationships give rise to more independence of individuals. On the one hand, numbers of modern family members are less than traditional ones and people are less reliant on their relatives. All the members of an extended family used to live in the same house. Today, people can choose where to work or live as they wish. They don’t need to live with relatives to take care of each other. On the other hand, improved status of women leads to their being less dependent on their fathers or husbands, meaning that it is more feasible for women to live an independent life. A sufficient and free life only need a good education and a decent job. Therefore, being confined to family is no longer the first choice. What’s more, urbanization and fast-paced lifestyle have led neighbors and colleagues in a cold status. Glancing at around, your neighbors may come from any places all around the country. For different working time and customs, they have different daily routine and lifestyle. Amazingly, you hardly meet even though you are neighbors. Adding that there are fierce competitions in the workplace, no one have time to get acquainted with new neighbors, not to mention a good relationship or even dependence attached with them. Additionally, communication on the internet has reduced real human contacts. The more time one spends on line, the less time one spends meeting someone in person, thus alienation becomes common. With the internet rocketing up, there have been thousands of websites with lavish and useful information. This leads to people acquire news and knowledge on line without leaving home or talking with others. There are also many kinds of entertainments. If there’s an internet-capable device with a screen nearby, the immediate world doesn’t get any attention. As a result, not only is face-to-face time with friends reduced, but also the need and desire to communicate is dwindling. Last but not the least, the advancement of electronics and automation make people more and more dependent upon high-tech products, rather than on human beings. For instance, inspired by Amazon Go’s " grab-and-go" idea, unmanned stores are sprouting up in the world. In a staff-less store, customers can finish their shopping without communicating or relying on anyone. They simply use the store’s app to enter there, take the products they want and go. They can find out what the store sells by searching in the app instead of inquiring the employees. They don’t have to wait in line with other shoppers. They can directly take the goods away without checking out at the cashing counter because the shop will send them a receipt and charge their app account. As discussed above, I am convinced that modernization has made people free and less reliant on others. And I believe that independent helps improved in many ways, such as in the internet and the electronics and automation. The world gives people a chance to success by their individual efforts and determinations. All in all, it is better to be independent.
