    在汉语中，“七”与“期”同音，含有期待的意思。牵牛、织女二星在每年的七月同时出现于天空，古代称为“星期”。在“星期”的背后，隐藏着人们对一切美好意愿的祝福与乞求。因此，七夕的“星期”便成为相爱之人会面的美好日子。

Young girls pray for beauty and happy marriage, while married maids pray for a lovely baby so that their husbands and parents-in-law will love them. These have gradually become customs. In Chinese language, "seven" has the same pronunciation as "expect". The Altair and Vega appear in the sky at the same time in the seventh lunar month every year, and this was referred to as "the date of stars" in ancient times. Behind this lie the good wills and expectations of people for good things, therefore, it has become a wonderful time for loving birds to meet each other.
