问题 For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay. You should start your essay with a brief account of how our education system generally judge students, and then explain why academic achievement isn’t an adequate way to judge a student. You should write at least120 words but no more than 180 words.

                    "Why is an A or B better than a C or D?
Aren’t all letters equal in the eyes of God?"

答案 The Story Behind Scores In the picture above, a naive child is expressing his confusion over why people think Grade A or B is better than Grade C or D. The question appears to be senseless, but it really reveals the general evaluation way our education system adopts: the ability of a student is solely judged by his/ her scores. I think academic achievement is far from an adequate way to judge a student’s ability. Each student has different strength. Likewise, each student demonstrates their knowledge differently. For example, some excel in presenting their knowledge orally. More importantly, high scores at best indicate the student has a good brain, but don’t show his/her a-bility to communicate, operate and handle stress, which are also essential to future success. There is a joke saying teachers should be kind to ALL students, because "A" students will become their colleagues, "B" students will be their doctors and lawyers, while "C" students will donate a new building for their school. Exaggerated though it is, judging students’ ability solely through examinations is definitely not a fair and appropriate way.
