I have recently witnessed the futility of our attempt to restrict the use of plastic bags in many regions, which leads to a deteriorating environment in our city. Consequently, I feel it urgent to bring forward effective solutions to tackle the problem. Firstly, it’s time for our government to charge higher taxes on plastic bags; on top of that, we should boost a recycling economy through R&D, featuring the use of renewable materials; last but not least, all the citizens should raise their environmental awareness and contribute voluntarily and jointly to the elimination of "white pollution" in our city.
