The costs of an average home in both Madrid and Frankfurt climbed before the year 1996, 1% and 2% respectively. While prices in Madrid increased even faster over the six years after 1995, the growth in the housing market of Frankfurt slowed to approximately 1%. Overall, the property prices in London and New York were volatile during this 13-year period, in contrast to the consistently rising prices in Madrid and Frankfurt. Tokyo’s houses were increasingly affordable.
