答案 Competition and Co-operation As is known to all, competition is a much discussed issue in our social life. We should be in competition with others when we play games. There is keen competition when people hunt for jobs and we have to be in competition as we are running business. Competition is an act of trying to win by fighting for the first place. We can say, to some extent, that competition exists everywhere and that it is one of the motive forces of the development of society. However, the close relationship between competition and cooperation is increasingly recognized. Take a basketball game for example, while one team is competing with the other team, each player of the team is co-operating with his or her teammates. In most cases, we can’t go on competing without co-operation. So they are equally important. While we are advocating competition, we can’t ignore co-operation. Pure and exclusive competition may lead to failure. Only together with co-operation will competition help us a lot in obtaining our goals and satisfying our needs.
