The most important reason most senior high school students go abroad is pursuing a better education, accounting for 67% among the different reasons. The second important reason for the senior high students studying abroad is to improve their all-round professional competitiveness, with a percentage about 38. The reason for seeking to work and dwell abroad is almost the same as the reason to escape the pressure of domestic college entrance examination, which respectively accounts for 21% and 19%. On the other hand, very few (about 5% to 7%) students study abroad to follow their parents’ advice and arrangement, or to follow their schoolmates’ choices. To sum up, the reasons for senior high school students’ study abroad are varied, while the most important one is to pursue a better condition for education and future profession.
