Why did Jerry visit the primary school?

M: Hi Finny. Are you in a hurry?
W: Hi Jerry, I haven’t seen you since Monday. Where have you been?
M: I just had a very interesting experience. I spent the whole day today with dozens of little children!
W: With children? Why?
M: (7) You know I take preschool education this semester. 1 should know more about how children learn and how they can learn better.
W: Where did you meet all these kids?
M: (7)At the primary school down the street. I visited some of their classes in the morning, then taught them some simple mathematics in the afternoon.
W: Understand the calculation of numbers must be very difficult for them.
M: Actually, they were very eager to learn. I was quite impressed.
W: How did you teach them?
M: (8)One teacher gave me some toys, like ducks, puppies and kitties. I just teach the children how to do some simple addition.
W: You must have done a good job.
M: Well. At least all of them could finish the exercise in the textbook at the end of the class.
W: That’s great. You know, when I was in primary school, numbers always caused me headache.
M: (9) I guess that’s why you chose to study history. Your memory is so excellent. I can never remember all the historical events, when they happened, who were involved, the consequence, the impact, etc.
W: (10) Talking about historical events, I just remember the professor asked us to finish an essay on the civil war. I should go to the library now.
M: Then see you. I hope you can get a good mark with your essay.
