As women in the United States move up the professional (职业的) ladder, more are finding it necessary to make business trips alone. Since this is new for many, some pieces of advice are certainly in order. If you are married, you are suggested encouraging your husband and children to learn to cook a few meals while you are away. They will be much happier and probably enjoy the experience. If you will be eating alone very often, choose a good restaurant. In the end it will be much better for your digestion (消化). You may also find it useful to call the restaurant in advance and say that you will eat alone. You will probably get better service and certainly a good table. Finally, and most importantly, see what needs doing and do what is necessary for your travel as a businesswoman. Start with lightweight luggage that can be easily handled even when fully packed. Take a folding case inside your suitcase; it will be extremely handy for dirty clothes, as well as for business papers you no longer need for the trip. And make sure you have a briefcase (公文包) so that you can keep recently required papers separate. Obviously, experience helps, but you can make things easier for yourself from the first by careful planning, so that right from the start you can really have a good trip!
