Saudi Arabia has said it will not allow the United States to use its facilities for any attack against neighboring Iraq even if a strike sanction by the United Nations. The Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saudi Al Faisal said the Kingdom wanted a political resolution to the crisis over weapons inspections. He said Saudi Arabia would abide by the decision of the UN Security Council, and would cooperate with it, but he said that cooperation would not extend to the use of Saudi military forces or facilities.
