答案 The table above shows information regarding underground railway system in six major cities in the world. Clearly, London boasts the most time-honored railway system that opened in 1863, followed by Paris in 1900. Los Angeles, in contrast, has the newest subway system among the six cities that opened only 11 years ago. In addition to its history, London also has the largest railway system of 394 kilometers of route in total, which is more than 30 times longer than that of Kyoto. Interestingly, although Tokyo only has 155 kilometers of route, it serves the greatest population per year (1927 million), and the system in Paris carries the second largest number of passengers of 1191 million. Moreover, the smallest subway system in Kyoto has the fewest passengers per year as expected (45 million). To conclude, the railway system in Tokyo is the busiest one and the railway systems among these six cities vary in age, size and the population they served per year.
