Why do many people will run most of their errands electronically?
Speaker: Will people still run their errands in the same way fifty years from now? Will they still go to grocery store for food and to the bank for money? Some experts think that in fifty years, people will run both of these errands and maybe more from their living rooms. It is convenient to do so. What they will have to do is buy home computers without even having to take any course in programming. They will simply talk to their computers, and if it is possible, the computers will talk back to them. By and by, people will do shopping at home. It saves much of their time. For example, a family wants to buy a TV. They will see a picture of the model they want on a video screen and find the store with the most reasonable price. Then they will send a message to that store, and the right amount of money will be taken out of their bank and put into the store’s. Many people will run most of their errands electronically. But sometimes, they will still want to go shopping in the old-fashioned way, that is, going from store to store to find a dress they like or a nice gift for their best friend, for it is a kind of enjoyment.
