答案 Pollution in Our City Pollution in our city is getting worse and worse. Most of this problem is the result of a growing population. More people means more factories and more automobiles, which are the two major sources of air pollution. Air pollution is also caused by the smoke from burning the coal used by many families to cook their food. Besides air pollution, water pollution is also getting more serious. In recent years, people have realized the seriousness of this problem and start to correct it. Firstly, some new laws have been passed to control the amount of polluted water and air that factories may release into the water and air. Also, families have begun to use natural gas instead of coal to cook their food, thus further reducing air pollution. In addition, people enjoy cleaner water thanks to the new water treatment facilities. Greater effort is needed to deal with the pollution problem. More controls on industrial pollution axe necessary to clean up both rivers and sky. Most importantly, those laws to protect the environment already in effect must be strictly enforced.
