One Way to Stop Cheating in Exams As cheating in exams is endemic today, something must be done to curb the problem. Against the background of intense pressure in colleges, this problem become more serious. I believe that one way to solve the problem would be to educate students as to their moral responsibility. I would suggest that universities set up a code of conduct that applies not only to students but teachers as well. There have been many cases where teachers have plagiarized academic papers and not been punished at all. Integrity, as a way of life, should be stressed as applying to all. Universities should lay down clear guidelines that cheating in any form is not allowable under any circumstances. Every freshman should receive these regulations and be given instruction on how they apply. Students should be told that cheating in exams is being dishonest. If a person is dishonest in one thing then he may be dishonest in others. Also, the student who cheats is not only letting himself down but the university and society too. I believe that this code of conduct should be signed annually and any student found breaking them should be severely punished. In conclusion, universities should establish a moral framework whereby honesty and integrity are encouraged and where cheating is severely dealt with.
