答案 Teachers are often compared to gardeners devoted to the career of cultivating students—the flowers which represent the world’s future. In this picture, however, the teacher, standing on a huge bulk of gold, is intent on making money by means of paid private lessons. No wonder a big sign of "ban" is resolutely imposed on the operation. Nowadays, public spotlight has been shone on the phenomenon that some teachers, especially those in primary and secondary schools, instead of sharing their knowledge in class time, intentionally reserve part of the required teaching schedule for paid private lessons as their money-making sideline. That brings shame on the so-called "sacred duty" of the teachers, which has long been perceived as a selfless art of imparting knowledge and educating people. Some voices are standing on the side of these teachers in that they have rights to earn money on the ground of mutual willingness between themselves and the students’ parents. Nevertheless, they should be aware mat those paid private lessons may lead to certain sacrifice of dutiable public education. Teachers’ professional ethics welcome the "ban" and it is believed that most of our "gardeners" are not and will not be money-worshipers but career-lovers.
