答案 A lean and weak man presses his stomach with a hand, trembling violently and sweating heavily. He asks a doctor in a painful voice, "Doctor, can you give me some medicine to cure hunger?" This unexpected question makes the doctor break into cold sweats. He frowns deeply and spreads his hands suggesting that he can not offer any help. Left behind the two persons, there is a bulletin board posting news about unsafe or poisonous foods. This picture reflects a serious problem in China that more and more foods are discovered to be unsafe, poisonous or even fatal, making people hesitant about eating. In recent years, the food safety problem has become increasingly serious in our country. Vegetables, fruits, meat, eggs and milk, almost all kinds of everyday foods have been found to possibly contain healthily harmful substances or additives. There are less and less relatively safe foods for people to choose. Chinese people have to get stuck in a dilemma between getting malnourished without taking in sufficient varieties of foods and more probably developing a serious illness because of eating potentially unsafe foods. The food safety problem has greatly disturbed people’s life. Efforts should be taken to solve it. An effective supervision system should be built and companies which produce unsafe foods should be heavily punished or closed.
