Dear Sirs, I’m a graduate student from Beijing University, majoring in Journalism. Last Saturday I noticed your recruitment information in the newspaper for an editor trainee for China Daily. I believe that I have the qualifications to fit your position. I am always very interested in writing articles, and I have published some articles in some magazines and journals. During the 3 years in Beijing University, I learned a lot about edit. I have been working for the university newspaper as an editor for 2 years and found that a good editor must be good at not only writing but also material assembling as well as evaluating others’ compositions. If I can work as the editor trainee for China Daily, I will have a chance to apply what I learned to my work. Enclosed please find my resume and the latest university newspaper I edited. If there is any additional information you require, please contact me by phone or by e-mail. I will be very grateful if you can grant me a chance of interview. Sincerely yours, Li Ming
