Regrettably, the Chinese outstanding traditional culture has been greatly ignored and even reduced to oblivion. The provocative cartoon conveys a profound message, pointing to a lack of confidence in China’s outstanding cultural elements. Not surprisingly, some long-held traditional values and cultural gems are being marginalized and even are quickly threatened to extinction. This worrying situation stems from a host of reasons. For one thing, some people hold on to the belief that traditional cultures have become obsolete and unnecessary. For another, it is a common sign that culture-related industries largely lag behind social progress, because Chinese people, especially the younger generation, tend to have little confidence in the cultural values of their motherland. Consequently, the whole society should take on the responsibility of the mission to revitalize Chinese outstanding traditional cultures. Traditional cultures in our country are waiting to be thoroughly explored and fully developed.
