In the second place, bike-sharing startups should use new technologies to improve their operation and maintenance system. It is known to all that two major problems bike-sharing startups face are randomly parking and the high damage rate of shared bikes. To prevent users from parking randomly and damaging purposefully, the bike-sharing service providers can resort to three-dimensional intelligent parking garage and adopt the electronic fence technology to regulate and supervise users’ behaviors. Thirdly, the bike-sharing service providers should spare no efforts to raise public awareness of protecting shared bikes. By doing so, the rate of damage and loss of shared bikes could be reduced, thus the potential cost savings will be cut. Last but not least, the government should issue draft guidance on production, operation and maintenance standards to ensure the quality of shared bikes and safety in use. As we all know, the healthy development of market can not be separated from the guarantee of legal system. Naturally, without protection of law, the fair and healthy competition among bike-sharing companies shall be the castles in the air. All in all, to ensure sustainable development for bike-sharing startups, both companies and the government should take necessary measures to improve user experience and the orderly development of the whole industry. Only by the joint efforts of companies and the government, can the bike-sharing industry develop healthily.
