Average distance in miles travelled per person per year,by mode of travel
选项
答案
The chart above indicates all sorts of traveling modes people take between 2000 and 2010 in China. Overall, the average distance travelled by all modes in 2010 is significantly more than that in 2000, with are 2963 miles and 4600 miles respectively. In detail, the uses of car, bus and airplane for travel have enjoyed a dramatic growth in the period of ten years, while the distance travelled by train and ship have increased subtly from 1143 to 1255 and 13 to 20 respectively. Moreover,it is noticeable that the most popular mode of travel in 2000 was by train, while the least used one was by ship. However, although ship remained the least popular mode after a decade, the most preferable vehicle in 2010 was car instead. The changes in the statistics may indicate the improvement of people’ s living conditions during the past decade, as people tended to enjoy more travels. Meanwhile, the obvious increase of distance that travelled by car may result from the growing number of private cars, which in turn suggests the rising standard of people’ s well-being.
