For instance, several travelers were forced to buy products in shops introduced by tour guides in Hong Kong. Another example is that a tourist was charged 4,000 yuan for a simple three-course meal in Sanya. Reasons behind this problem are complicated. One possible reason is that the local administration bureau fails to exercise effective supervision. Another equally important reason is that tourism industry practitioners are obsessed with economic benefits. Economically exploiting tourists is apparently a serious problem. Therefore, it is imperative for us to seek and adopt effective solutions. Firstly, necessary laws and regulations should be adopted and enforced to protect tourists’ benefits. In addition, officers should offer effective supervision. Hopefully, by employing these methods, the healthy development of the tourism industry can be achieved.
