答案Dear Mr. Johnson, Recently, we carried out a survey on "Long May Day Holiday, Kept or Cancelled" by means of questionnaires as you suggested. The results are as follows: About 24% of the surveyed people are in favor of the canceling of the holiday. They say the long May Day holiday cause many problems. For example, the traffic is very bad because many tourists choose to travel during this period. Besides, with the tourists flowing in, many scenic spots can not handle it. Some cultural relics are ruined. Anyway, none of us, including the visitors, is willing to see the consequence. However, another 76% are strongly against the canceling. May is a good time for outing and to experience the beauty of spring. No one can deny that the tourism economy and commerce are greatly promoted thanks to the long holidays. Nevertheless we know that it’s the government that has the final say over the issue whether the May Day long holidays will be cancelled or kept.
