How many pictures does Voyager 2 send back a day?

Voyager 2, the second spacecraft probe of Jupiter, was sending back 48 pictures a day of the giant planet for study, a jet propulsion laboratory spokesman said Monday. The spacecraft has sent back to date about 625 photos of the whole disc of the planet since it began its observatory phase April 25. Before the Jupiter stage of its mission ends it will have transmitted back more than 15, 000 photos of the planet and its satellites.
