答案 Changes in the Ownership of Houses The bar chart clearly illustrates the declining tendency of state-owned houses and the increasing tendency of private ones during the period from 1990 to 2000. According to the chart we can see that in 1990 the percentage of private houses started at 25%. Secondly, it is apparent that in the following 5 years, the number dramatically climbed to 40%, nearly 2 times as much as that of 1990. What is more, this chart also demonstrates that in the year 2000, the figure surprisingly jumped to 80%. While the percentage of state-owned houses changed accordingly. This result can be concluded in several aspects. The key factor is new policy. Also it is partly due to the better living standards in China. Finally the new western values contribute to the changes as well. From the diagram it can be safely concluded that the ownership of houses have undergone many changes in the past few years and have of course influenced people’s life a lot.
