To be exact, high school graduates earn $27,963 per year, compared to $87,775 per year by professional degree holders. It seems that doctorate degree is the watershed, under which the annual income difference is roughly $10,000 between groups. But there is a more than $20,000 difference between master’s degree holders ($58,522) and doctorate degree holders ($80,776). We can learn from the given chart that the more we learn, the more we earn. Thus, we should not regard education as a heavy financial burden, but rather see it as a long-term investment. In some less developed areas in China, there are quite a few parents who doubt the value of college education and advise their children to take up a job after high school. I believe they would change their mind after they read the statistics in the charts, because as it shows, the more we know, the more we will reap.
