答案E I’m going to give each of you a picture and I’d like you to first briefly describe and then give your comment on what you see in the picture. Candidate A,this is your picture. You have three minutes to talk about it. A There are two pictures in my hand. They show us one of the reasons for traffic accidents —terrible weather such as rain and fog. In the first picture, there are many cars, buses and taxis are running in the smog. But for the drivers, it’s too foggy to see other vehicles. Maybe one car wanted to speed up or one bus wanted to slow down, as a result, these two vehicles crashed into each other. And one by one, the vehicles behind them crashed into each other. In the second picture, it’s raining hard, and the street is very slippery. A running car slipped to the side of the street and crashed into a telegraph pole. This scenery frightens a passer-by with an umbrella in his hand. In the second picture, some people are walking; some people are riding bicycles and motorcycles; some others are in the cars. It’s too crowded. Then a car crashed into a fruit booth, and the fruits are dropping down on to the road. The second picture also shows us a narrow street. A line of cars were crossing the street, suddenly a bicycle rushed out and the first car couldn’t stop at once. Then they crashed into each other. E Thank you. Now,candidate B,could you please ask your partner a question? B Do you think traffic accidents can be avoided? (Why/Why not?) A Yes, of course traffic accidents can be avoided. Drivers and pedestrians are both responsible for the avoidance of traffic accidents. Firstly, they should both obey traffic rules—no violation of the traffic rules such as traffic lights, no drunk drivers and so on. Secondly, they should both keep alert and show consideration for others. In the street, everybody should be polite to others. Thirdly, everybody should keep their vehicles in good condition. E OK. Candidate B.here is your picture. You also have three minutes to talk about your picture. B There are many traffic rules. For example, you should not carry passengers when you are riding a bicycle. The first picture in my hand shows the serious consequence of doing so. A man is riding a bicycle and his wife is sitting at the back seat of the bicycle with a child in her arms. But unfortunately the bicycle crashed into a car, the husband, wife and child are all falling down to the ground. Poor condition of vehicles is one of the reasons for traffic accidents. In the second picture, many passengers are standing to wait for green light. A boy is riding a bicycle rushing towards an old woman. It seemed that he couldn’t stop the bicycle. Then the boy immediately says sorry to the old woman and explains that something has gone wrong with the bicycle brake is out of order. E Thank you. Now, candidate A,could you please ask your partner a question? A Do you think drivers should always be held responsible for traffic accidents? (Why/ Why not?) B No, drivers should not always be held responsible for traffic accidents. For some accidents, the drivers are to blame. They sometimes drive too fast and show no consideration for others. They think they are safe at the wheel even though they have drunk too much alcohol. Some drivers are unaware that their carelessness may have fatal consequences. For some accidents, the blame must be put on the pedestrians. Some careless pedestrians step off the pavement without looking to the left or right. Some even cross roads when the traffic lights turn yellow. So, drivers and pedestrians should both be held responsible for traffic accidents.
