YES
Getting promoted is the most powerful drive to work To be honest, the main purpose of doing jobs is to earn money for life. For most people, getting promoted means a pay raise, which enables them to live a better life.
When you are promoted to a high level in the company, you will have more power in making decisions in your job. Getting a promotion also means that you will gain more respect and attention from the whole society.
NO
As a young man, finding a sense of fulfillment in his career life Is the most important thing. Everyone wants to make his life meaningful. Work becomes an effective way for ordinary people to achieve their goals, which could put a sense of fulfillment into their life.
The biggest drive for people to work hard is that his effort can be valued and respected by other people. Without recognition, one will feel his work is nothing important and then lose his enthusiasm for working hard. In this sense, to realize one’s personal value is the most important

答案
Promotion Not Serving as the Most Powerful Drive Promotion is an important, powerful drive to work, but whether it is the most powerful drive to work has sparked a hot debate among the public. Those who support that it is the most important one believe a higher position means higher salary and more power which will stimulate workers to a large degree. However, some people argue that the sense of fulfillment and recognition are more important than promotion. In my view, promotion should not be considered the most significant drive to wok. Firstly, not all employees have the ambition to get promoted. Promotion brings not only reward and power, but also more responsibility, higher pressure and less personal space. Most ordinary people who deem work only as a way of making a living are not inclined to sacrifice their personal life to work. What’s more, leading posts are limited considering the large number of workers. Both employers and employees have to admit that only a small proportion of total workers may have a chance to get promoted. As there are various means to inspire employees’ passion and enthusiasm, for example, by offering them with higher salary, options on shares and paid leave, I can’t see the reason why promotion is the most powerful drive. In conclusion, promotion has limited effects in motivating people to work and other means should also be adopted.
