答案
E Now,I’d like you to talk about something for about 3 minutes. I’m just going to listen. I’d like you to discuss about spare time activities you enjoy and why. A OK, let me start with my viewpoint. I think outdoor sports are better than indoor sports for college students, because it doesn’t cost very much. For example, we can get up early in the morning, go out to have a jog or do some other outdoor sports, and at the same time, we can enjoy the beautiful scenery of our campus. B Does that mean we can’t take part in any sport if the weather is not fine? If it’s raining, outdoor sports will be cancelled. In fact, indoor sports do not cost very much on our campus either, so we can still afford it. A Yes, that’s right. Indoor sports are immune to bad weather. B Can you give me some other advantages of indoor sports? A No problem. Almost every stadium is air-conditioned. In the summer you can play indoor sports in a cool environment, and you’ll not have to sufier from the severe heat if you play outdoor sports. I think it’s helpful for physical fitness. I also like some outdoor sports such as golf, tennis and so on. B So, I think both indoor and outdoor sports have their own advantages. What do you think? A Oh, I think so. Our minds can be built greatly by sports. But my favorite sports are all outdoor sports such as swimming and football. I like the feeling of sweating bullets during sports. I feel it’s better for me. A Why did you say sports can build our minds greatly? B In sports such as football, one should learn to struggle for victory, and to fight no matter how exhausted he is. And one must learn to stick to one’s own confidence and hope, no matter how little the hope may be. And one must learn to accept failure, and learn to start again after failure. Long distance running and mountain climbing contribute much to this kind of spirit. I’ll never forget the feeling when I raced to the final line first in a 3, 000 meter race. I could hardly breathe in the last 100 meters. My lungs ached and my legs weighed a ton, but there was still one runner in front of me. I gave all my strength to move one foot ahead of the other. When I surpassed him, he gave a cry of surprise. I won at last and I learned much from the race. B Do you think it is important for university students to do physical exercise regularly and why? A Yes, physical exercise is an indispensable part of college life. It contributes directly to a person’s physical fitness. It serves as valuable practice in making our eyes, brain and muscles work together. It’s very important to college students who work with their brains most of the day. Moreover, through physical exercises, students can be released from their routine studies, and their academic life can be colorful and richer. Even more importantly, sports help promote the students’ personality and character, such as judgments, will and self-confidence. A What is your favorite way of keeping fit and why? B I keep fit by physical exercises. My favorite sports are jogging, swimming, tennis and so on. Every morning, I get up early to have a jog. The campus is quiet then, the scenery is so beautiful, I love it very much. By jogging, I stay energetic all day, and will not be sleepy during school time. In my spare time, I like to go swimming. It’s a very good way to relax and keep fit. After swimming, I feel a bit tired physically but quite relaxed mentally. Besides, I keep fit by sticking to reasonable hours, such as getting up early in the morning and going to bed early in the evening. B Do you think going on a diet is (also) a good way to keep fit? A I don’t think so. On the contrary, I think going on a diet is harmful to people’s health. Some of my classmates are going on a diet to keep fit now. They eat very little every day. This makes them feel very dizzy. They lose some weight, but become very weak. They feel sleepy in class, sometimes they just don’t even go to class. So now, they can’t keep up with the pace of most students. From my point of view, physical exercise is the best way to keep fit. A What kind of physical exercise do you think is most suitable for elderly people and why? B I think jogging is the most suitable physical exercise for elderly people, because jogging is a kind of slow-paced physical exercise. Elderly people are not as strong as young people, so it’s better if they take part in slow-paced exercises. They can get up early in the morning, when everything around them is very quiet. The trees, the streets and the noisy apartments are still in a deep sleep. The sun is just rising out of the eastern horizon. They can enjoy the early morning fresh air while jogging. Jogging in the morning can result in good health, and make elderly people’s minds sound and clear. So, I think jogging is the most suitable physical exercise for elderly people.
