答案 The pie chart reports the market share of the cartoons in China. As can be seen, Japanese cartoons take up the lion’s share, as much as 60%, of the Chinese market. The second biggest share, which is 29%, is taken up by European and American cartoons. The remaining 11% is contributed by Chinese original cartoons. One could make two assumptions based on the survey results. First, Chinese consumers find Japanese cartoons more appealing, which leads to the dominant popularity of Japanese cartoons. This is probably because Japan has a longer history of developing cartoons industry and their products are more sophisticated and suit the taste of the Asian consumers. Second, Chinese home-grown cartoons have huge potential yet to be unleashed Since Chinese cartoons industry has a relatively shorter history, it takes time to come off. As far as I can see, with proper investments and favorable policies, Chinese cartoons would gain back the domestic share in the future.
