答案
Does Heroism Still Work? Heroism, used to be associated with people’s ideal, is now believed by the public as out of date. For them, heroism is a belief that emphasizes individuals’ leading role in the development of human careers, but today’s world, characterized with complicated social division of labor, requires that the individual cooperate with other people and thus their role in the social life is weakened. So heroism can no longer meet the demands of the times. Ironically, heroism does exist in the real life, for many people still cherish heroism as a dream or an ideal, which in return guides their thinking and behavior. For example, many NBA stars are hailed as super heroes and become part of the ideal of the public. There are also many girls dreaming of becoming so-called "super girls" so as to be focused on by the public as ones with outstanding abilities. No matter whether it is correct or not, this phenomenon demonstrates a contradiction in the attitude of the public towards heroism. For me, this contradiction can be interpreted as a compromise between these two parties. That is to say, individuals in today’s world should learn to cooperate with others while they can also cherish a bit of heroism that will inspire their initiative and thus fulfill their potential. In this sense, heroism is still necessary.
