Many years ago, Karl Benz developed a car, but before he could show it to the public, someone had to drive it. Berta Benz believed in the car, so she decided to drive it first, before her husband. Because she wanted to keep her plan secret. Berta told Karl that she and their two young sons were going to visit their grandmother. She didn’ t say how they were going to get there. They set off before it grew light so that Karl wouldn’ t see them. Although Berta didn’ t know how to drive, she kept the car on the road. When they reached a village, the car suddenly stopped. They pushed the car to the next town for some gas(汽油). After they left the town, the car stopped again, because a pipe(管子) was blocked.
While the two sons were discussing what to do, Berta took a long hair pin(发夹) and pushed it up the pipe. She decided that they must reach Pforzheim. As the noisy car with its three tired passengers finally arrived, Berta knew that she and her husband had shown the world how the cars of the future would look.
What did Berta do when the car stopped again?
选项
A、She pushed the car to Pforzheim.
B、She used a hair pin to fix the car.
C、She discussed with her kids what to do.
答案
B
解析
句意:当车再次停下时,贝尔塔是怎么做的?细节题。从文章第二段第一句“…Berta took a long hair pin and pushed it up the pipe.”可以推断出,贝尔塔是用发夹处理了汽车。故选B。
