答案 Big City or Small Town Recently, a debate over living in a big city or a small town is prevailing. Some people believe that life in a big city is more convenient than that in a small town, while others contend that a small town is more livable. As for me, I would go for living in big cities where people can enjoy more job opportunities, better educational resources, and superb medical services. First, it is evident that big cities have much bigger job markets. Because many leading enterprises choose to locate their headquarters there, ensuring that there would be various companies who cooperate with them or offer life necessities for workers. For example, we can easily find a publishing house near an editing company and a fast-food restaurant near an office building. Various companies make it possible for nearly everyone to find a job. Besides that, companies in big cities tend to provide higher salaries and more welfare to attract competent workers. Second, schools in big cities take advantage in resources allocation. There are not only spacious, bright and airy classrooms, but also really good laboratories in big cities. When secondary school students in cities conduct experiments in labs under teachers’ guidance, their counterparts in small towns, however, have little or no access to a real chemistry or physics lab. Let alone the hi-tech teaching equipment on geometry class. More importantly, there seems to be more qualified teachers in cities than in towns. With this kind of education inequality, people are more likely to live in big cities. Third, big cities offer superb medical services. There are more top-ranked hospitals and talented experts in big cities that can provide timely and accurate treatment. This would be even more attractive when people want to take care of their families, among which are elder people and children who are prone to disease. Apart from that, the public health care system in big cities is more complete. You can get easier access to various vaccines and you can find more first-aid equipment like AEDs in urban area. All in all, I prefer to live in big cities because there I can have more job choices, enjoy superb medical services, and have the chance to earn the next generation better educational opportunities.
