答案Dear Sir, I have just read last week’s lead article in the Hounslow Gazette and am horrified to learn of the expansion plans for London’s Heathrow Airport. I cannot help but wonder if any consideration has been given to those long suffering people who live close to the airport. I live with my wife and two young children in Acacia Avenue which is directly in the flight path. The noise is already almost unbearable and any increase in the number of flights is totally unacceptable to me and other families in the area, who already suffer quite enough. I would like any member of the planning committee to stay at my home for a few days so as to experience firsthand the hardship suffered by local residents on a daily basis. I am sure that having heard the noise caused by the aircraft and seen the traffic congestion, and a fair minded person will agree that enough is enough and that an alternative solution must be found to accommodate the additional flights.
