John Ciardi got his master’s degree from the University of Michigan in 1939 and has published more than 40 poems.

John Ciardi was born in 1916 in Boston, Massachusetts, the child of Italian immigrants. He attended Bates College and Tufts College and received his master’s degree from the University of Michigan in 1939. He is the author of more than forty volumes of poetry.

Ealing Hospital in West London sends 20 texts per day, reminding the patients in advance of the date and time of their appointment. Before using the text messaging system, the hospital relied solely on sending patients a letter as a reminder.
