Then PeterWent insideWhile Paul quickly hurried off to telephone the police.When theMan saw Peter, he looked frightened. Then he smiled and said, "You don’t knowMe, but I’m your father’s friend, he askedMe to fetch (取) someMoney for him."
In no time two policemen arrived. As soon as theMan saw the policemen, he tried to run off. But heWas stopped and caught by the policemen.
Just then the boy’s parents returned.
"Is thisMan your friend?" one of the policemen asked the boy’s parents.
"No!" said Peter’s father. "He is a thief. HeWanted to stealMyMoney. I’m glad you’ve caught him."
