答案
The Significance of Goals Few can deny the significance of goals in achieving long-term success, as stated in the quote "If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favorable." Without explicit objectives, all the efforts and advantages will be meaningless. First, we cannot get where we are trying to go until we clearly define where that is. Therefore, it is our priority to set feasible goals which are also the natural starting point for a satisfactory outcome. Second, goals can guide all our resources and efforts toward the same destination. Were there no clear destination, favorable conditions would be wasted or even misused, which might lead to catastrophe. Third, goals help us focus on the most important points needed to be accomplished. In light of the ultimate goal, distractions can be easily dismissed. To conclude, goals enable us to focus and allocate our time and resources efficiently. For one thing, goals like the ports we are sailing to, always directe us forward on the way to success. For another, goals like the beacons in the dark sea, show us the way out when we are bewildered.
