2. The city enforces an ordinance which requires the removal of snow from pedestrian safety routes by the adjoining property owners within forty-eight hours of the onset of any snow event. The failure to shovel or plow sidewalks within this period creates icy walkways and encourages school children as well as adults to risk walking against traffic on streets.
3. Avoid piling snow around your neighborhood fire hydrant. It is extremely important that every fire hydrant remain both visible and accessible. Please call the Department of Public Affairs if you notice a covered hydrant.
