So far, the best holiday in my life was the one I had with my parents and sisters 2 years ago. At that time, I got a 4 days’ leave and I planned to surprise my parents. I went back home without giving them a heads-up. My sudden appearance obviously caught them off guard. Anyway, they were quite thrilled to see me and learn that I got a few days off. The next day, we all went to see a movie in a small cinema and ate our dinner in a Thai restaurant. We returned home at night and then played some indoor games. On the third day, we prepared some home-made food and took it to a nearby picnic spot. I lay on the grass that was bathed in sunlight, watching my sisters playing cards. My mother was reading Jane Eyre next to me. That was a truly great day that I had. On the last day of my stay, my parents decided to take me to my grandparents’ house. Though they were long gone, we still go there from time to time. We got there at dusk, took a look at the house, and then went on to the nearby riverbank to breathe the open fresh air. I got back to Beijing the next day. The holiday is a memorable one because I get to spend a lot of time with my family. I get very little spare time these days, let alone a long holiday as such. More often than not, when I get home, my family are also too busy to hang out with me. So, I think this chance was rare, yet thankfully, we didn’t waste it.
