North Korea says it does not need to meet directly with Japan during 6-party nuclear talks next week. The official North Korean news agency reported a North Korean objection to Japan’s demands that the talks include North Korea’s kidnapping of Japanese citizens during the Cold War period that followed World War Ⅱ. A South Korean diplomat said Friday that the talks would involve only nuclear disarmament and not other issues.
