答案 Which Is More Important, Family or Career? Which is more important, family or career? Such a question can easily put one into a dilelnma since family and career intervolve in one’s lifetime. Nevertheless, there are people, mostly male, who believe that career is always the first consideration and family is the second. The opposing view holds that career should be subordinate to family. The family-first supporters argue that family is the base and backup for the individual: family raise him/her up, pay for the education and help him/her pursue the new career. Family is the gas station when one is tired in the workforce. Family is harbor when one is hurt in the business world. It is the place where one can laugh, cry and be himself. Opponents argue that career plays a more important role in life because people have to achieve their personal goal through career life. To become the top in the workforce, one has to be single-minded and devoted to the cause, which often means a scarification of the family. It’s hard to judge which is right or wrong. Personally, I take no sides. I think family counts for as much as career. The only thing worth remembering is to strike a balance between the two.
