Cultural heritage extends beyond historical sites such as the Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven and the Great Wall in China. Cultural heritage represents our history and our identity, as well as our connection to the past, the present and the future. During an era of globalization, cultural heritage aids us in remembering our cultural diversity and facilitates mutual respect and renewed dialogue among different cultures. In addition, cultural heritage provides us with a sense of belonging and unity within a group, as well as allowing us to gain a deeper understanding of previous generations and where they originated. It is clear that cultural heritage remains an important component of preserving cultural diversity, particularly in light of globalization, and serves as a bridge leading to the past, the present and the future.
