The picture features a woman, lifting her daughter above her head, rushing towards the mass-election for actors and actresses in a TV series called The Red Mansion Dream, where swarms of people have already assembled. She is so absorbed in the dream of building her daughter to be a star that she neglects the terrified look on her daughter’s face and the textbooks cast aside. This picture draws our attention to a serious social phenomenon that quite a number of people blindly assume the talent show to be a shortcut to fame and success. The reasons attribute to this phenomenon are complicated and varied. On the one hand, owing to the inundation of talent shows, it is quite easy for anyone to gain access to the possibility of becoming a star. On the other hand, the prospects of being a star are too tempting to resist, for stars are believed to lead an unimaginable luxurious life while enjoying huge admiration from fans. With the help of the talent show, it seems easy to fulfill their star dreams so that they are at ease to give up studies. As far as I am concerned, it is time that they should wake up from the illusion and take up a down-to-earth manner, for as the saying goes, "Opportunities are for those who are well prepared. "
