答案 My View on University Ranking It is not an uncommon social phenomenon that university ranking is especially prevalent in China. For example, universities are measured by their scales, academic achievements or the number of papers published in learned journals. However, opinions vary from person to person concerning this phenomenon. Some people hold that university ranking dramatically promotes the development of universities because, to some extent, it can stimulate teachers and students to work harder in order to make their universities rank high. Consequently, more and more teachers and students can get good results through their hard work. But others maintain that university ranking is likely to bring about some undesirable consequences such as academic misconduct and a tremendous waste of educational resources. They argue that some universities bribe the authorities rather than do some real scientific research to win in university ranking. From my point of view, every coin has two sides. Although university ranking does encourage the development and growth of the university, it has the potential to cause academic misconduct. We should optimize the advantages of university ranking and dump its disadvantages.
