Woman: From my point of view, if I’m happy in the job and enjoy coming to work with my coworkers, I will be less apt to leave. So, as an interviewer, every interview process includes ascertaining the candidate’s experience and training, and also what type of personality he has. Matching attitudes and personalities in a department encourages employee retention because it reduces potential stress between and among co-workers.

Man: Well, my feeling is that employees who are well compensated and have good benefits won’t want to leave for another company. It is well-known that benefits cost money, but so does having to retrain if there is a constant exodus of employees due to low pay and no benefits. So, it is of great importance to research the salary and benefit standards. It will help me choose a wage that will encourage employees to stay with the company.

Woman: Hmm. I try my best to make employees feel that they are part of a team, a working family. It will encourage them to remain at the company. As for me, holding monthly birthday gatherings for all employee birthdays each month, having holiday parties and providing lunch rooms conducive to employee socialising will help employees feel connected to one another and the company.

Man: As for me, if my boss makes me feel I am valued, I will often go the extra mile on the job. And never leave for another company just because high-salary. Sometimes, just an email of recognition, or an awards dinner or a gift card for a job well done from my boss makes me really satisfied.

Woman: Actually, in my opinion, the company that is able to further my education will be great. I would like to stay with a company that offers education benefits. For example, my company brought a variety of training seminars in house last summer, and many employees were very happy to take part in those training.
