答案 Pressures of Modern Man With the fast pace of the contemporary life, people in the modem times are facing all kinds of pressures. Workers fear that they will be laid off when there is an economic recession. Farmers are afraid that flood or drought will prevent them from getting a bumper harvest. Here I should like to make a special mention of students. Primary school students have their pressures. If they cannot be promoted to a key high school, their parents will feel disappointed. High school students also live under pressures. Their parents hope that they can go to universities so that they can find a satisfactory job after graduation. University students are no exceptions. During their university lives, they-have to study hard and pass all the exams arranged by schools and countries. Otherwise, they can’t get their diplomas. Students without diplomas can hardly find their jobs. As far as I am concerned, living in this world is by no means an easy thing. I have to work hard and earn enough money to support my jobless parents, jobless wife and daughter. So to speak, I am a member of the sandwich generation. But I am not afraid of pressure whenever I meet with it. Now I who have a good state of mind have become accustomed to pressures, which is to me the driving force rather than the disincentive to my career development.
