There are three main factors that can account for such a phenomenon. First and foremost, compared with the rural counterparts, urban residents generally enjoy better health, medical care and education services. Moreover, the cities need more labor force as the economy grows. Last but not least, it is generally believed that there are more favorable opportunities in big cities. As a result, millions of people flood into cities in search of jobs and decent living conditions. However, it brings about a lot of problems, such as the shortage of suitable housing, the high pressure of transportation and the pollution of the environment in the city. In my view, effective measures should be taken to solve the problems. First, city development should be planned well. Second, the government should offer more benefits and convenience to the residents of towns and villages to encourage them to stay at home.
